Kenneth J. Hollinshead to Mrs. Edna N. Toncray - December 15, 1938

December 15, 1938

Mrs. Edna Toncray,
1250 Alton Road,
Miami, Florida

My dear Edna:

To date we have orders for 3 dozen and 11 plates and a number of other inquiries indicating real interest.  Those who have ordered are -

Mrs. Leroy Kimball 12
Q. Forest Walker 12
Louis Mathewson 6
K.J. Hollinshead 6
Mrs. Mark Putnam 8
Belle Pratt 2
Mrs. Susan Hubbell 1

I am inclosing [sic] carbon copies of letters I have just sent to Mrs. Putnam who sent us $12.00 for eight plates and Mrs. L.S. Hubbell who sent $1.50 for one plate.  Their checks are also inclosed [sic] for your indorsement [sic].  Unless I hear from you to the contrary we will keep the original orders sent to you here and advise you from time to time of those received and any personal messages on them.  We are acknowledging each letter.  Is that all right?

In Albion I thought it would be better if we had two chairmen, one for the faculty ladies and one for the town.  Joe Baldwin has therefore asked Mrs. Samuel Harrison to represent the faculty and Mrs. Paul Ewbank the town.  Larry Foster has appointed Mrs. T.G. Hansen, 1140 Clay St., San Francisco, Calif. as the plate chairman for the San Francisco District, and as she was not a member of the Association she had write for a copy of the magazine and wants to join, so the committee is doing a little membership work as a by-product.  Other chairmen appointed are - Mrs. Wm. D. Rodgers, 1432 Wealthy St., S.E. (Grand Rapids), for the Grand Rapids District, and Mrs. Jesse Campbell, 613 Woodcrest Drive, Royal Oak, for the Royal Oak group.

Last week we had a series of addresses before the student body by Dr. Merton Rice of Detroit and he certainly left a fine impression on the young people.  I can understand why Sue and Melvin used to attend his church because he appeals to red blooded people

I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine and sea breezes.

Cordially yours,

K.J. Hollinshead
Alumni Secretary

P.S. If you have any orders sent to you that we don't know about, please let us know and we will plan to keep you informed from this end.
