EAI indexes approximately 3,400 journals and magazines and the New York Times. Full text online is provided for
approximately 2,000 of the journals/magazines.
Historical Abstracts The most prominent index to articles and books for the field of non-U.S.
history.
MLA International Bibliography
The most important database for research in literature. Indexes books, essay collections, working papers, proceedings, dissertations, and
bibliographies in literature, language, linguistics, and folklore.
Sociological Abstracts
Provides access to the latest research in sociology and related disciplines in the social and
behavioral sciences, from 1963 to the present. Includes citations (and abstracts since 1974) for articles in over 1,500
journals. Draws information from an international selection of journals, serials, conference
papers, books, and dissertations .
Social Sciences Abstracts
Includes references to articles, interviews, obituaries, biographies, and book
reviews from over 550 periodicals. Coverage begins in 1983.

American Women: A Gateway to Library of Congress Resources for the Study of Women's
History and Culture in the United States
"American Women is not a collection of digital items. It is a gateway--a first stop for
Library of Congress researchers working in the field of American women's history. The site contains a
slightly expanded and fully searchable version of the print publication American Women: A Library of Congress
Guide for the Study of Women's History and Culture in the United States (Washington, D.C.:
Library of Congress, 2001). The guide has been redesigned for online use, with added illustrations and
links to existing digitized material located throughout the Library of Congress Web site."

The Status of Women in the States
"A leading source of analysis of women’s status across the country. Between 1996 and 2004, IWPR has
produced individual reports on women’s status in all 50 states and the District of Columbia,
as well as biennially updated reports on national trends across the states. The Status of Women in the States project is designed to inform citizens about the progress of
women in their state relative to women in other states, to men, and to the nation as a whole."
Women Working, 1800-1930
Women Working, 1800 - 1930 focuses on women's role in the United States economy and
provides access to digitized historical, manuscript, and image resources selected from Harvard
University's library and museum collections. The collection features approximately 500,000 digitized
pages and images including:
- 7,500 pages of manuscripts
- 3,500 books and pamphlets
- 1,200 photographs
