BasicBIOSIS
Includes over 300,000 records from 350 of the core life science journals most easily found in college and
university libraries. Coverage is from 1994 to the present. Updated monthly.
Web of Science
Web of Science (also known as Science Citation
Index) provides keyword and citation searching of scholarly journals in the
sciences from 1986 to the present.
General Science Abstracts
Indexes 150 journals and magazines from the U.S.
and Great Britain, covering such subjects as anthropology, astronomy, biology, computers, earth sciences,
medicine and health, and much more.Coverage is from 1984 to the present. Updated monthly.
Biological and Agricultural
Index Nearly 250 English-language periodicals in life sciences
and agricultural subjects, published in the U.S. and
elsewhere. Includes book reviews. July 1983 to the
present. Updated monthly.
BioOne Abstracts and Index
Indexes only the journals included in the BioOne electronic journal collection. Provides
links to full text articles in that collection.
Expanded Academic Index Full-Text
Indexes approximately 3,400 journals and magazines and the New York Times. Full text online is provided for
approximately 2,100 of these titles.
Article1st
Article1st indexes approximately 12,500 journals and magazines, across all subject areas. This
database indicates which journal and magazine articles are available in the Albion College Library.
WilsonSelectPlus
WilsonSelectPlus contains indexed and abstracted articles from over 1300 periodicals, all with
full text online. The database is comprised of records from the following H.W. Wilson databases:
Readers' Guide Abstracts, Social Sciences Abstracts, Humanities Abstracts, General Science Abstracts and
Wilson Business Abstracts. The dates of coverage begin January 1994 and continue to the present (please note
that each periodical can begin on a different month and year).

BioOne
This service provides access to the full text of nearly 50 bioscience research
journals from a number of small societies and non-commercial publishers. These
journals are focused primarily on the biological, ecological and environmental sciences.
Searchable Ornithological Research Archive (SORA)
Provides access to full text articles for six ornithological journals, including The Auk (1884-
1999), The Condor (1899-2000), The Journal of Field Ornithology (1930-1999), The Wilson Bulletin
(1889-1999), Pacific Coast Avifauna (1900-1974) and Studies in Avian Biology (1978-1999).
Electronic Collections Online
Electronic Collections Online provides indexing and full-text from academic journals in the life
sciences and many other disciplines. Articles can be viewed online or printed.
JSTOR
Provides indexing and full-text from scholarly journals in the many disciplines,
including Botany, Ecology, and General Science. Unique, in that coverage for
each journal begins with the first volume.

MeLCat will help you find books owned by dozens of libraries in Michigan (including Albion College,
Michigan State University, Central Michigan University, Albion Public Library, East Lansing Public Library,
Grand Rapids Community College, Southfield Public Library, and many others). Books may be borrowed by using the online request form.

Cornell Lab of Ornithology Macaulay Library Sound and Video Collection
The Collection contains over 160,000 sound clips and video clips of more than 3,000 species of birds and animals (not all clips are freely available).
In many cases, visualizations (waveforms and spectrograms) of bird calls are available.

Includes information on more than 550 North American birds.
