These databases will help you locate information published in journals, magazines, newspapers and a variety of other sources. PAIS (Public Affairs Information Service) This database covers public policy and social issues. It includes periodicals, books, hearings, reports, gray literature, government publications, Internet resources, and other publications from 120 countries Columbia International Affairs Online (CIAO) Covers research in international affairs. It provides access to a variety of sources, including journal articles, books, working papers from university research institutes, occasional papers series from NGOs, and proceedings from conferences. Social Sciences Citation Index (Web of Science) Web of Science provides keyword and citation searching of scholarly journals in the social sciences and sciences from 1986 to the present. Social Sciences Abstracts Includes references to periodical articles from over 550 periodicals. Coverage begins in 1983. Humanities Abstracts Indexes 400 periodicals in world history, and other humanities disciplines. Coverage begins in 1984. Arts and Humanities Search Indexes 1300 of the world's leading arts and humanities journals. Coverage begins in 1980. Expanded Academic Index Full-Text EAI indexes approximately 3,400 journals and magazines and the New York Times. Full text online is provided for approximately 2,000 of the journals/magazines. Historical Abstracts The most prominent index to articles and books for the field of non-U.S. history. LEXIS-NEXIS Academic Universe LEXIS-NEXIS Academic Universe is a system of databases providing indexing and full text for a large number of newspapers and magazines. Article1st Article1st indexes approximately 12,500 journals and magazines, across all subject areas. This database indicates which journal and magazine articles are available in the Albion College Library. Google Scholar Search the web for scholarly literature. JSTOR Searchable database of full text articles from numerous journals. Unique, in that coverage for each journal begins with the first volume. Project Muse Provides full-text access to scholarly journals, including World Politics.
