Scirus
"Scirus is the most comprehensive science-specific search engine on the Internet.
...Scirus searches over 167 million science-specific Web pages"
American
Chemical Society
Highly respected source for a vast amount of information. A good starting place for
chemical information.
ChemINFO (Indiana University)
"CHEMINFO, Chemical Information Sources, is designed to help people find and
learn how to use chemical information resources on the Internet and elsewhere. It brings together Web sites at
Indiana University with significant chemical information content."
Chemistry Central
"offers peer-reviewed open access chemistry journals,
including chemistry-related BMC journals, independent journals, and the
Chemistry Central Journal. Site also offers research highlights, latest
articles, and links to other open access chemistry resources."
ChemSpider: An Online Database of Chemical Structures and Property Predictions
"ChemSpider makes available a database of chemical structures and related
properties as well as providing access to a series of property prediction algorithms. It has been built
with the intention of aggregating and indexing chemical structures and their associated information into a
single searchable repository and making it available to everybody, at no charge. ChemSpider intends to
become a community for chemists to share data and knowledge associated with chemical structures and
reactions and providing an open forum for discussion and sharing."
ChemSpy: the Internet Navigator for the Chemical industry
Provides access to chemistry and chemical engineering related databases. Search for spectral data,
physical properties, chemical patents, safety data.
Online Chemical Database - R
& D Chemicals
Its search engine allows you to find a chemical by
its molecular formula, IUPAC name, Smiles, CAS number, structure or
substructure. The synthesis references for some compounds are also available.
