Gifts of Collections
Library collections grow in only two ways—through purchases
and gifts. The Stockwell Memorial Library started with a number of gifts from
Randolph G. Adams, first director of the
William L. Clements Library at the University of Michigan and private
antiquarian dealer. Since that time, the Library has received tremendous support
from bibliophiles, collectors and other benefactors who wish to place their
collections with us.
If you have an interest in donating your library or individual items to Albion
College, please do not hesitate to contact us. It is important to note that the
Albion College Library contains over 376,000 volumes, and while we are happy to
evaluate individual items and collections, we are only able to accept materials
that complement our current collections and that are consistent with the
Library's collection development policies.
To discuss the potential gift of a collection, contact the Library Director, Dr.
John P. Kondelik at
jkondelik@albion.edu
or (517) 629-0567.
