Start Here to find articles in newspapers The Library provides access to newspapers in several formats: print (paper), microfilm, and online. Some newspapers are available in all three formats. Use the information below to find newspaper articles in our collection or online. Print/microfilm options Current newspapers: The Library subscribes to a number of newspapers, although we keep back issues of most for only a short time. We do have back issues of the Detroit Free Press and the New York Times on microfilm. The New York Times is also available online from 1851-2003. Online options Full text databases: Lexis-Nexis Academic provides access to full text news articles from thousands of U.S. and international sources, including "national and regional newspapers, wire services, broadcast transcripts, international news, and non-English language sources". Coverage varies by title, but many titles date back to the 1980s. InfoTrac Custom Full Text Newspapers contains full text articles from 150 newspapers, including the Detroit Free Press, Grand Rapids Press, and the New York Times (past 12 months only).
