Troubleshooting the Wireless Laptops

If you are unable to log on to the laptop, the following steps may help:

• Restart the laptop.

• If this is not possible, press the power button in for approximately 10 seconds to shut the laptop down.  Wait a few moments, then power the laptop back up.

• Because of the thickness of the walls and other factors, some areas of the library block wireless access to the network.  This is particularly the case in the Stockwell building.  Try relocating to another part of the library if you are unable to connect to the network.  

• If this does not fix problem, return to the Circulation desk for a replacement laptop

You can install library printers by following the steps:

Windows XP:

1. Log on to the Albion College network through a web browser

2. Click Start, then Run

3. Type: \\ps08e01.albion.edu

4. Log in when prompted, putting albion\ in front of your user name (e.g. albion\jdoe)

5. Choose the printer from the list and install the drivers when prompted

Windows Vista:

1. Log on to the Albion College network through a web browser

2. Click Start

3. In the "Start Search" box at the bottom of the menu, type: \\ps08e01.albion.edu

4. Log in when prompted putting albion\ in front of your user name (e.g. albion\jdoe)

5. Choose the printer from the list and install the drivers when prompted
