Troubleshooting the
Wireless Laptops

-
If you are unable to log on to the laptop, the
following steps may help:
-
Reboot the laptop by
clicking "Shutdown" on the Novell log-in window.
-
If this is not possible,
press the power button in for approximately 10 seconds to shut the
laptop down. Wait a few moments, then power the laptop back up.
-
Because of the thickness of
the walls and other factors, some areas of the library block wireless access
to the network. This is particularly the case in the Stockwell
building. Try re-locating to another part of the library if you are
unable to connect to the network.
-
If this does not fix problem, return to the Circulation
desk for a replacement laptop
-
Ascertain how much power is left on the battery
pack, and prevent laptop from shutting down when not in use by following
these steps:

-
Move all four bars for Turn off monitor, Turn off hard
disks and System standby up to Never
-
Click OK
-
Click OK again to close window
