Position Description |
Must be willing to work weekends. Checking books and
reserves in and out, putting books in correct call number order on sorting
shelves, maintaining order of reserves, answer phones and take
messages, maintain copiers and printers, general supervision of circulation
area, assist patrons in various ways, other tasks as necessary.
Responsible for own hours and finding own substitutes.
Because the circulation desk is the first thing people see
when they enter the library, it is considered the hub of information.
Therefore, you should be willing and able to learn a number of things about
the library, such as the various departments, their locations, and the staff
members who work in them. |

Position Description |
Interlibrary Loan/MeLCat student employees are
responsible for processing materials borrowed from and lent to other
libraries. Typical duties include entering information into the library
catalog, retrieving materials and scanning articles. Excellent data entry
skills, attention-to-detail and self-sufficiency are musts. Accuracy and
reliability is very important. Hours can be set around your schedule no
weekend or evening hours required. ILL is a very busy and vibrant area of
the library. Consistently steady all semester but middle to late semester
is the busiest time. |

Position Description |
The successful candidates for this position will be
required to work in the Stockwell Library at the Periodicals desk,
reporting to the Government Documents Coordinator. Primary duties will
include, but not be limited to: assisting patrons in locating items
(newspapers, microfilm/microfiche, magazines, journals, government
documents); answering the phone; assisting the maintenance of
statistics; maintenance of copy machines/reader-printers and assisting
patrons with operation of these machines; assist Periodicals and
Government Documents supervisors with check-in/filing and shelving
tasks; assist with opening and closing procedures as needed.
Hours of work
are varied and based on student’s schedules. Nights and weekend work is
available. Schedules are closely kept and workers are responsible for
finding their own replacements if they are unable to report for work at
their designated time.

Services Coordinator will be informed. Picking up books.
Ensuring that all patrons have left at closing time, and
assisting desk workers with closing procedures, such as closing windows,
turning down terminals, and locking building. Must be willing
to work weekends. |
