Martha Way Clancy, Class of 1931
The purpose of the Watumull Foundation was to
promote better understanding between the United States and India and to
contribute to charitable, educational, and cultural activities in Hawaii. The
Foundation also provided some support to libraries. The Foundation presented the
college with a grant to purchase materials on Indian civilization in 1964-66.
The grant was assisted through the efforts of
Hugh and Martha Way Clancy, Class of 1931, of the Kamehameha Boy's School in
Honolulu.

Bishop Werner graduated from Albion College with an
A.B. in Economics in 1920. One of the most interesting of the donations from
Bishop Werner includes a series of artifacts that can be seen on display in
Library Director Dr. John P. Kondelik's office. The gift also included 584
volumes.
