Stockwell-Mudd Libraries 

The Stockwell-Mudd Libraries make available to Albion College students and faculty more than 400,000 books and other non-print items, over 19,600 online and print journal subscriptions, abd full-text articles from more than 50,000 journals through the library's many databases. OneSearch, the library's discovery service, can be used to locate information on any topic from all our collections with a single search.

Cutler Commons

The new Cutler Commons (opened August 2011) is located on the main floor of the Stockwell building. The Cutler Commons is a popular place to access technology. It features interactive study and teaching spaces; a one-stop services area for Circulation, Research Assistance, and Information Technology help; and the Read Between the Grinds Cafe. Librarians are available to help you by email, text, chat, phone, and in person with all your research needs.

Stockwell Library

Beyond the Cutler Commons, the Stockwell Building (opened in 1938) also houses the Library's book collections in literature, language, music, art, adn the sciences, as well as back issues of journals and extensive collections of U.S. government documents. The Wendell Will Faculty Room graces the upper level of Stockwell, providing a comfortable space for lectures and guest speakers. 

Mudd Learning Center

The Mudd building houses: the print reference collection; the College Archives, Rare Books and Special Collections; and the Madelon Stockwell Turner memorial Room. The Foundation for Undergraduate Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity (FURSCA), and the Academic Skills Center are also located in the Mudd Building.

The library is an active participant in the Michigan Electronic Library (MEL), an online system that enables Albion students and faculty to directly request materials from hundreds of other participating Michigan libraries. In addition, the library provides an interlibrary loan service that can locate and rapidly retrieve materials from libraries outside Michigan.

Wireless access to the College network and the Internet is available throughout both buildings. The library maintains a pool of more than 35 wireless laptops (both PC and Mac) available for student checkout at the Circulation Desk.
