Philanthropy

Send a Valentine's Day card to a Marine stationed in Africa! We'll be selling cards for only $1 in the Albion Kellogg Center from 11am - 1pm until February 6th!

Kappa Delta supports more national philanthropies than any other National Panhellenic Council (NPC) sorority. In addition to our larger events, our chapter also chooses one project a month to help our local community and the world around us. Previous projects have included raising change for Honduras medical relief and collecting magazines to donate to a local women's shelter.

Girl Scouts of the USA

Our chapter supports our local Girl Scout troops by acting as troop leaders, helping them earn badges (including the KD badge!), going camping, hosting Halloween and Princess parties, and teaching them about building good self-esteem and habits through the Uniquely Me! program. At the national level the Kappa Delta Foundation contributes to the Girl Scout Gold Awards, giving 10 girls $1,000 scholarships for their college tuition.

Prevent Child Abuse America

Our Shamrock Project pancake brunch and letter writing campaign raised over 6,000 dollars last year, 80% of which stayed in Calhoun County in support of the Calhoun County Child Abuse and Neglect Council! This was a 600% increase from last year and we couldn't be happier!  The other 20% went directly to Prevent Child Abuse America. This year's Shamrock Project will be held March 28th, hope to see you there! Prevent Child Abuse America was founded by KD Donna Stone and Kappa Delta has donated over $7.1 million to this cause!

Children's Hospital of Richmond, Virginia

Kappa Delta Jail n' Bail and our KD Carnival, held during Little Sibs Weekend and hosted by our spring pledge class, support the Children's Hospital through the generosity of the campus and Albion community. Since 1921 Kappa Delta has given over $2.2 million to help provide a motion center, playground, neurosurgical instruments, transport vehicles and other projects.

American Academy of Orthopedic Research Awards

If you've received a Christmas card from a Kay Dee with a seal on the back then you've seen our support for the Kappa Delta orthopedic research awards! Each year our chapter purchases these seals, designed by a Kappa Delta, to support the Nobel prize of orthopedic research. Three $20,000 awards are presented each year to promising young orthopedic researchers, totaling over $1.1 million since the start of our partnership.
