Academic Excellence

Congratulations to Cat Gulledge and Katie Wachter for earning perfect 4.0's this fall!

This fall the Kappa Deltas at Albion College earned the second highest average GPA on campus, 3.475, above the all women's average and in 2nd place of the 6 National Panhellenic Council sororities! Academics are always on our minds and we're constantly looking for ways to help our sisters scholastically, through fewer meetings around midterms, understanding that big assignments and tests can come before a workshop, and rewarding ourselves for awesome results!

Academic excellence is one of our chapter's target areas; along with membership and social success, good grades are key to a fulfilling collegiate experience in Kay Dee. Our plan for academic success starts with putting first things first and supporting our women in their scholastic endeavors. When a Sigma Pi KD earns a 4.0 for the semester, she is given a pearl to wear on her badge as a sign of her academic achievement. We also reward our ladies for smaller achievements such as 4.0s on assignments and tests, studying the most, helping a sister with her work, or even not missing class!

In our continuing legacy of academic achievement, 1996 Sigma Pi alumna Eileen G. Srodes created a Kappa Delta scholarship which awards $1,000 to 2 lucky Kay Dee collegians each year. Our own Cat Gulledge was one of the 2008 recipients!

Greek life is a balance, and Kappa Delta both understands and supports the need for good scholarship.

Sigma Pi's on the Dean's List this fall include A'Lana Bates, Halie Belz, Amber Bialecki, Caitlin Burgess, Allyson Bush, Debra Gibbs, Catarina Gulledge, Elizabeth Heimler, Jennifer Holan, Julia Humenik, Evyn Lewis, Dianne Marshall, Angela Redmond, Katie Spencer, Samantha Strasser, Amanda Tilot, Rachel Tripp, Rhonda Vander Zwaag, Katie Wachter, Elizabeth Williams, and Keshia Williams! Way to go ladies!!!
