The Sigma Pi Chapter of Kappa Delta was founded in Albion on 24 March 1923. A few years later, I believe in 1925, the father of one of the members offered to build a house for the women to have meetings and other activities in, like the other sororities did at the time. That summer the lodge was built, and included the main living room on the first floor, the basement and an elevated restroom affectionately dubbed "the throne room." In 1953(?) the kitchen and upper restroom were added, thus eliminating the sacred "throne room."

The lodge is maintained through the financial support of collegian members and alumnae and spearheaded by the Sigma Pi House Corporation. We are continually working to improve this historic building to carry on the legacy of so many K-Delts who have gone before.

Currently the chapter uses the lodge for meetings, formal and informal recruitment events, sisterhood activities, some social activities, study hours and other events. But perhaps the most important thing the lodge provides is a place to go to spend time with people you love.
