Regulations   

 

Regulations for the International House Fall 2008

 

 

1.    I-house consists of four language houses (French, German, Spanish, and Japanese) all with active residents.

 

2.    I-house residents applied to live in I-house for the purpose of participating in the language house activities. All language majors and minors are required to live one semester in the I-house. .25 unit of credit is granted on the condition that all requirements of the I-house are met: attendance at 90% of all I-house activities. Credit will be awarded at the end of the semester.

 

3.    I-house residents may live one full year in the house but will need to re-apply and be assigned each semester.  Credit will only be awarded once.  Applications to live in I-house for spring 2009 will be due in November.  Contact Res. Life for applications.

 

4.    I-house residents are required to participate in weekly language house meetings and activities and will pay $5 dues. Attendance will be taken by the corresponding FLTAs.

 

5.    I-house residents will actively participate and help with the planning and preparation of the international dinner and cultural event of their language house that semester.

 

6.    The I-house council will be made up of CIE Director, I-house RD, native speakers, two representatives of each language house. The officers for the I-house council will be selected from these representatives.

 

7.     I-house will sometimes have activities organized by RAs/Res Life which are separate from language house activities and meetings.
