Assistant
Dean of Career Readiness |

Albion College, a selective, private, liberal arts
college, invites applications for the position of Assistant Dean of
Career Readiness. The Assistant Dean supervises the Career
Development Office and manages the Sleight Servant Leadership
Program. The Assistant Dean will also promote collaboration and
communication among College constituents engaged in Career Readiness
initiatives. The Career Development Office is a comprehensive center
offering a full spectrum of career development services and
programming. The Sleight Servant Leadership Program provides
leadership development and volunteer service opportunities to
students. Job responsibilities include
supervising career placement/recruitment services
and internship program as well as providing oversight of the alumni/ae
career connection. The Assistant Dean will also provide career
advising and counseling, career assessments, and career development
programming. Responsibilities also include providing innovative and
collaborative leadership and management of a four-year
developmental, servant leadership program. The successful candidate
will have experience with and demonstrated knowledge of the career
development concerns of traditional-aged college students, as well
as the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, academic
departments, and student groups. The position requires strong oral
and written communication skills; ability to manage multiple
projects simultaneously; strong planning, organizational, and
marketing skills; knowledge of career development theory; knowledge
of the career concerns of diverse students; knowledge of Web-based
recruitment software. Salary is competitive and dependent on
education and experience. Anticipated start date is no later than
January 2010.

| Qualifications Include:
Minimum
qualifications: A master’s degree in student personnel or
related field and seven years full-time experience in a
college or university career development office (including
director level responsibilities); previous supervisory
experience; and demonstrated familiarity with the employment
and recruitment processes are required.
Prior
experience with leadership or service, program development,
community partnerships, and experiential education
preferred.
