Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Intervention and Prevention Coordinator

 

Albion College, a selective, private, liberal arts college, invites applications for the position of AOD Intervention and Prevention Coordinator. This is an academic-year (9 month), part-time (20 hours per week), position, reporting to the Director for Counseling Services. Anticipated start date for the position is August, 2008. The successful candidate will join a creative and interdisciplinary team of professional clinical staff serving a residential campus of 1800 students. Job responsibilities include assessment of student alcohol and other drug use, short-term AOD counseling, the development of effective prevention and early identification programs related to AOD abuse for college students, and consultation with faculty, administrators, and staff regarding AOD concerns. Responsibilities may also include individual and group counseling, supervision of graduate student trainees, crisis intervention, participation in the department 24 hour on-call emergency rotations, and consultation for Counseling Services. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a range of populations including students, faculty, staff, and community members, as well as an appreciation for and experience working with diverse student groups.

 

Qualifications:

Preferred qualifications: MSW with licensure in Michigan, CAS or CPS certification; university or college counseling center experience.
