Tenure-Track Two-Dimensional Media: Painting/ Drawing/ Design

 

Tenure-track. Assistant Professor. August 2008. MFA required. College level experience and strong teaching capabilities required.  Albion College seeks an articulate, dynamic artist/teacher with expertise in painting, drawing and 2D foundations. Strong exhibition record is desired. She/he should demonstrate evidence of a promising career underway. Our undergraduate curriculum supports a BA with majors in Art, Art History, a BFA in art and supports the arts requirement for all students in the College.

 Teaching load consists of six courses per year including beginning through advanced drawing, figure drawing, all levels of painting, and two-dimensional design. The successful candidate will also demonstrate an ability to engage studio investigation within the broader aims of a liberal arts education. Teaching opportunities include participation in and development of innovative first-year seminars and Honors courses. In addition to ongoing professional development and college-wide service, responsibilities include assisting with the oversight of studio facilities and collaboration with other faculty and staff in managing the college art gallery.
