This course will cover continuing challenges within the field of dance. Topics will include: building audiences for live art, keeping up with the digital age, increasing value for the arts when economy demands cuts, exploring the role of the arts in education, the emphasis on 'meaning' within concert dance, and more. No previous dance experience is necessary. Course structure will include lecture and small group discussion, dance technique and composition components, group projects, and field work at Johnson's Daycare, Harrington Elementary, and on Albion's campus.
