Trip Application Form Note: Applications are no longer being accepted for the 2007 trip to Poland. The Holocaust Service-Learning Project (HSSLP) will travel to Poland May 12 through May 20, 2007. Twenty students will accompany faculty and staff to help restore the New Jewish Cemetery in Wrocław and study at Holocaust sites in Kraków, and Oświęcim (Auschwitz/Auschwitz-Birkenau). All Albion College students were invited to apply. Application forms, available on this website, were due Friday, October 13. Notification of selection was made during Fall Academic Advising (October 16-24). Each participant will take a ˝-unit seminar (IDY 197 Holocaust Studies) during the spring semester. This seminar will meet on five evenings in February and March; a seven-page paper is required and two additional readings will be the subject of evening discussions during the trip to Poland in May. While we are seeking additional financial support to lower the cost of travel, the cost per person at present is set at around $2,000, including all travel, lodging, and some meals. Payment may be made through FYE in the form of interest-free monthly installments. A deposit of $300-$400 is due soon after acceptance. In the past we have found that hometown institutions and individuals are willing to contribute to student costs; referring them to our website (www.albion.edu/holocauststudies) can be helpful in generating such support.
