On Sunday, April 29th, 2007, two Albion College students competed at the Intercollegiate Dressage Association’s National Championships at Centenary College in New Jersey.

Junior Halley Sissom (Chelsea / Chelsea) competed in the Upper Training Level division after being ranked as the Regional Reserve Grand Champion.  This was Sissom's second time in two years competing at the National Championships.  After a very accurate and consistent ride, Sissom was awarded with scores of 64% and 64.7% from the two judges.  This placed Sissom 6th in the Nation for the Upper Training Level Division.

First year student Mark Lampen (Zeeland / Zeeland East) competed in the Lower Training Level Division.  Lampen was also ranked as the Regional Reserve Grand Champion before the National Championships.  Lampen's ride was also described as accurate and consistent; the two judges scored him with 64.64% and 64.29%.  These scores placed Lampen 5th in the Nation for the Lower Training Level Division.

Once club members back at Albion College learned the results, they immediately bought spray paint to paint the school's rock.  It is a long standing tradition at Albion to paint the rock on campus to celebrate student achievements.

It took club members over two hours to paint the rock, but it was well worth the effort for everyone!
