As owner and head trainer of Nottawa Paint Horses, LLC in nearby Marshall, Michigan, Denise has been active in breeding, training, and showing American Paint Horses for the past 25 years with many awards and accolades to her credit. Some of her top honors include an PtHA Reserve World Championship in western pleasure and being awarded Reserve Paint Horse Congress Champion. In addition to her own riding, showing, and judging, Denise has served as a 4-H horse leader for the past 15 years, instructing junior riders in all disciplines, including western pleasure and equitation, English pleasure and equitation, showmanship and halter, trail, reining, barrel racing, jumping – and even driving! She and her students boast 40 Top Ten state championships. Due to heavy arena and lesson traffic at the Nancy G. Held Equestrian Center, Denise is kind enough to allow the Albion College western team to train at Nottawa Paint Horses, utilizing her horses and equipment.
