The Equestrian
Club has a long history of holding bake sales for the campus
community. All money raised goes back to the local
equine community or to help fund Dressage team riders.
In the final bake sale of the spring
semester, the club raised $190 to help Mark Lampen and
Halley Sissom (both members of the club) fund their trip to
the IDA National Championships.
In order to compete, Lampen and Sissom
had to secure over $2,000. This paid for their entry
fees, hotel and food costs, and their airfare. Much of
this money was covered the Equestrian Club and Albion
College.
Proceeds from previous bake sales have
gone to Horse's Haven, C.A.N.T.E.R., and to a group of
abandoned and neglected horses in Jackson County.
