Four riders represented Albion College in the North American Prix de Villes held at Lake Erie College April 21-22. The competition differed from a regular United States Dressage Federation dressage show by combining the teams' top three scores from each day.

Equestrian club advisor Randi Heathman, ’03, and her horse Ricochet led the team, placing first in both First Level test 2 and First Level test 3 with scores of 72% and 68% respectively. Heathman also won her USDF Regional Qualifier and qualified to compete at Regional Championships to be held this fall.

Held Equestrian Center director George Halkett and his horse Golden Son also competed at First Level, receiving scores of 57% for test 2 and 58% for test 3.

Halley Sissom, ’08, (Chelsea/Chelsea) competed at Training Level on Held Center school horse Lansing. This pair did remarkably, receiving scores of 68% in Training Level test 2 and 66% in Training Level test 3. They placed third and second, respectively.

Brittany White, ’10, (Midland/H.H. Dow) took her own Raise the Volume and joined Sissom in competing at the Training Level. White placed first in Training Level test 2 with a score of 68% they then received a score of 62% in test 3, placing fifth.

The Britons finished the weekend with the highest average percentage of the nine teams competing in their division and were named the 2007 North American Prix de Villes Champions, beating out teams from the University of Findlay and Lake Erie College. Along with the blue ribbons, Albion riders also received medals and matching embroidered coolers. Heathman was also awarded the honor of being individual champion of the Prix de Villes.
