The Albion Equestrian Club
traveled to Paragon Farms to audit the Jim Graham Clinic
Saturday, March 3, 2007.
Jim Graham has been eventing for 30 years. Graham has been a member of the
1994 3-Day Team, riding at The Hague World Equestrian
Games. He has also represented the USA at the Burghley and
Rolex Kentucky CCI**** and CCI***, as well as Punchestown
(Ireland), Fairhill CCI*** and Checkmate CCI***.
The Saturday portion of the Clinic focused on having a
quality canter to each fence. Graham had each rider canter
over a series of rails placed before and after the jump in
order to get the horse more balanced on the approach, take
off and landing. By the end of the day each horse and rider
team were landing after jumps in the same canter they
approached the fence. All agreed it was an amazing clinic to
audit. The Sunday session continued the quality of the
canter theme, but this time over a series of fences set in
related distances as opposed to jumping a single fence.
One Albion Equestrian, Brittany White, rode in the clinic on
her horse Raise the Volume, "Bay." Brittany and Bay had a
wonderful time, learning many new techniques that will be
helpful this summer while competing around the country in
preparation for their one-star (CCI*) in July.
“It was remarkable to see the change in all the horses and
riders from the beginning of the clinic on Saturday to the
end of the session on Sunday,” said White.
The Club looks forward to auditing more clinics in the
future. For a complete list of club activities please visit
