Arenas

A student finished with her round on the grass jumping field. Three arenas currently serve the Held Equestrian Center: the 100' x 400' Randi C. Heathman Indoor Arena with two heated viewing areas, and a 100' x 200' outdoor all-weather sand arena. Both sand arenas feature the latest in flooring technology.

In addition, a 250' x 300' grass jumping arena greets visitors as they proceed up the Held Center driveway.

Randi C. Heathman Indoor Arena

The Randi C. Heathman Arena spans 100' x 400'.

The Randi C. Heathman Indoor Arena is believed to be one of the largest indoors owned by a collegiate facility in the U.S.

At right, the open viewing gallery allows spectators to be close to the action in the indoor arena during competitions and clinics.

Randi Cristine Heathman Arena

The plaque in the indoor arena visitor's gallery reads:

"Randi Cristine Heathman Arena
Given by Sheldon and Jean Laughlin, '50. Generously given out of respect for their dear friend Randi Cristine Heathman, '03. Dedicated October 15, 2004."
