White Earns End of Year Honors from T.E.A.M.

When Albion College junior Brittany White isn’t serving as a leader on campus, she can be found leading the points standings for The Eventing Association of Michigan (TEAM).  This competition season, she was named the TEAM Preliminary Champion Senior Amateur Rider and her Thoroughbred gelding, Raise the Volume, was named Preliminary Champion Horse.  The pair also qualified for the American Eventing Championship (AEC) at the Lamplight Equestrian Center last fall.

The summer show season was a busy one for White and Raise the Volume (better known as “Bay”) on their way to their end-of-season accolades.  They won the Encore Horse Trial in June to qualify for the AEC and ran fifth in the Area VIII Preliminary Championship at Hunters Run.  They also finished fifth in the preliminary division at the Honey Run Team Challenge.  The pair also spent two weeks in July back at Albion and the Nancy G. Held Equestrian Center, where White was a counselor for the Center’s riding camp.

White, a psychology major with a pre-health concentration, has been a committed part of the equestrian program at Albion since her first year on campus.  For the 2008-2009 school year, she serves as both captain of the College dressage team and as president of the equestrian club.  She can also frequently be heard over the public address system at the Nancy Held Equestrian Center during horse shows, where she serves as announcer.
