Center Hosts Summer Show Jumping Festival
Over the very warm weekend of August 15 and 16, the Held Center proudly
hosted a schooling jumper show and festival, an event that attracted not
only the typical "horse show set," but also community members who were
introduced to the sights and sounds of a horse show for the first time.
Though the temperatures exceeded 90 degrees on Sunday afternoon,
spectators and competitors alike were able to enjoy a comfortable and
busy atmosphere with activities and sights to choose from that included
the jumping competition on the grass show jumping arena, a shopping area
populated with local vendors selling products and services, a Frisbee
dog competition, live music, food and beverages on site, classic and
antique cars, and even twice daily jousting demonstrations.
