Nancy G. Held Equestrian Center

What do the liberal arts and a college equestrian program have in common?
At Albion the answer is, A LOT!
The riding program at our Nancy G. Held Equestrian Center is multifaceted – just like our classroom education.
When our professors tie world history into the plot points of a famous novel, the understanding that students take away from the lesson is deeper – just as it is when our riding instructors relate how the fundamentals of dressage apply to jumping courses and even to western equitation.
The Albion College equestrian program was established in 2004 and offers something for everyone, from beginners through experienced competitors. Three intercollegiate riding teams compete in hunt seat, western, and dressage as part of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) and Intercollegiate Dressage Association (IDA).
Albion students also compete outside of intercollegiate equestrian shows in all disciplines, including hunters, dressage, show jumping, eventing, and western breed shows.
For future equestrian professionals, the Held Center also offers international certification through the British Horse Society.
The Nancy G. Held Equestrian Center of Albion College is proud to be designated as an approved British Horse Society (BHS) riding and boarding establishment, as well as an approved training center.
