Most Memorable Gerstacker Moment:

Competing in the Google Online Marketing Challenge during my senior year. As part of the challenge, I was a member of a four student team (pictured above), tasked with managing and evaluating a Google AdWords campaign for a local bridal boutique. Not only did I learn a great deal about online and interactive marketing (knowledge that I use on a daily basis at my current job), but I also learned a great deal from each of my team members and their experiences. I think the most rewarding thing for all of us was seeing sales increase for the local business which still utilizes the marketing strategy we created.

Advice for Upcoming Business Students:

Volunteer for everything within your organization and don’t be afraid to ask questions. People never get sick of talking about their jobs. Ask to sit in on meetings. Ask to go on client calls. Volunteer to help clear out the storage shed. The more you learn about your organization and your co-workers, the more you see where you’ll fit, or won’t fit in your career field.

Most Memorable Gerstacker Moment:

I have had so many amazing memories that it is difficult to pick just one. I would have to say two of my favorite/most hilarious moments were our class trip during summer school to the Tigers game, as well as our boating excursion at Professor Bedient’s lake house. Summer school in general was the best time I’ve ever had at Albion. I also loved stopping in Gina’s office everyday!

Advice for Upcoming Business Students:

My advice is simple, do what you love. When you find out what that is, work as hard as you can to succeed. Don’t be afraid of new challenges, and keep an open mind. Most importantly, don’t forget to have fun while you’re doing it! Life is too short to be a book worm.

Most Memorable Gerstacker Moment:

It is hard to think of one single moment because Gerstacker was so much a part of my college career. I suppose my favorite moment would have to be the Gerstacker Senior Dinner in April. All of the Gerstacker seniors talked about their favorite memories from the program. It reminded me how many incredible experiences that Gerstacker gave me and how many lifelong friends that I made in the Institute.

Advice for Upcoming Business Students:

Do a little bit of everything. These four years are for figuring out who you are and what you love to do. Try a bit of everything, and then follow your heart.
