The Carl A. Gerstacker Institute for Business and Management combines the traditional strengths of a liberal arts education with business knowledge, skills, and experience necessary for leadership and management positions in today’s global business environments. Since 1973, the Gerstacker Institute has earned an excellent reputation for preparing students to be successful in the workplace.

The business world is dynamic. By preparing students in the fundamentals of common business practices, as well as creating challenges that provide opportunities to develop critical thought into action, this program creates in-demand employees and future business leaders.

Business Curriculum
The Gerstacker Institute offers an interdisciplinary major that encourages students to explore the practical and dynamic subject of business without confining the curriculum to a single discipline.

Small Classes
Gerstacker students are in small classes in which they get to know their professors, and the faculty take a personal interest in each of them.

Working Together
Solving problems by working collaboratively in teams is a key component of the Gerstacker program.

Career Preparation
From day one, Gerstacker students are taught to analyze problems, embrace leadership roles, and remain flexible in a constantly evolving environment.

Internship Opportunities
Gerstacker students participate in up to two full-time internships. The experiences allow students to test their interest in a particular field and discover what they want, or don't want, in their future careers.

Building a Network
Students establish contacts by utilizing Gerstacker's extensive alumni base, through regular alumni visits to campus as well as institute trips to such cities as Chicago, Detroit, and Toronto.

Gerstacker students and graduates are assets to companies not just in Michigan but across the U.S. and around the world. If you believe Gerstacker is right for you, learn about applying to the institute and please contact us if you have any questions.
