Welcome

Albion geology students and faculty have wide-ranging interests in the Earth, from ultra-high-pressure rocks formed in intensely deformed mountains to the evolution of vertebrate fossils to recent and modern climate and environmental change. In the last two years, we have been doing field research in California, Wyoming, South Dakota, China, India, Svalbard, and Antarctica. In June and July 2010, Albion faculty and students participated in our biennial geology field camp in Wyoming and South Dakota (see story). In May 2011, our regional geology class went on a fourteen-day field trip to the Pacific Northwest (see photos above and story).

Our program provides students with hands-on experiences and analytical skills that prepare them for the next step in their lives, whether it is to be as a professional geologist, a teacher, or a professional in another area, such as business, law or medicine. Our comprehensive curriculum, small class sizes, and involved faculty provide our students a well-rounded education and a real advantage in their future pursuits. Link to our Mission Statement.
