ˇBienvenidos!

At Albion College students can major or minor in Spanish in three tracks: a generalist track, Spanish Language and Cultures for the Professions, or the new Transamerican Latino/a Studies track.

Our course offerings range from beginning, intermediate and advanced Spanish language courses to a selection of upper-level content and theme-based courses (taught in Spanish) that introduce students to significant cultural and historical topics from Peninsular Spain, Latin American, and U.S. Latino/a perspectives.

In our 100 and 200-level courses students acquire the basic skills necessary for effective communication in Spanish, as well as raise awareness of intercultural exchange. At the advanced level, all the courses we offer have recently been updated to make them more relevant to the Spanish students of today, while also ensuring they receive a solid foundation in Spanish cultural studies and continue to improve their linguistic competency.

If you have any questions about the Spanish program or specific courses, please email one of the three Spanish professors at Albion: Julia Medina, Kalen Oswald, or Rebecca Whitehead-Schwarz. You can also stop by and make an appointment to speak with them at their offices on the first floor of Vulgamore.
