German: Omid Kabiri and Miriam Preussker
Hello, we are Miriam
and Omid, your two German FLTAs 2005/06.
Miriam is 23 years old and from Berlin. Omid is 24 years old and
from Jena. In Germany, both of us are working on our teacher's
degree; Miriam’s subjects are English, German, and
Sachunterricht (mixture of biology, history, and geography for
elementary school). Omid studies English and Political Science
at the Friedrich-Schiller-University in Jena.
We are living in the German House (in the I-House) and are in
charge of organizing tutorials and the weekly cultural activity.
In addition, we have to attend classes like any other Albion
student. Furthermore, you’re welcome to join us at the language
table every Wednesday at 12 pm in Upper Baldwin. Please do not
hesitate to contact us if you have questions concerning the
German language and culture or if you just want to get to know
us!
Hallo, wir sind Miriam und Omid, eure zwei deutschen FLTAs
2005/06.
Miriam ist 23 Jahre alt und kommt aus Berlin. Omid ist 24 Jahre
alt und studiert in Jena alt. In Deutschland studieren wir auf
Lehramt. Miriams' Fächer sind Englisch, Deutsch und
Sachunterricht (eine Mischung aus Biologie, Geschichte und
Geographie für die Grundschule). Omid studiert Englisch und
Politikwissenschaft an der Friedrich-Schiller-Universität in
Jena.
Wir wohnen im deutschen Haus (Internationales Haus) und
organisieren die Deutschtutorien und die kulturelle Aktivität,
die wöchentlich stattfindet. Zusätzlich müssen wir, wie jeder
andere Student in Albion, an Kursen teilnehmen. Ihr seid
herzlich willkommen, an unserem Sprachentisch teil zunehmen
(jeden Mittwoch um 12 P.M. in „Upper Baldwin“). Wenn ihr Fragen
bezüglich der deutschen Sprache oder Kultur habt oder uns kennen
lernen möchtet zögert nicht euch bei uns zu melden!

Ivan: Hi! How are you?
My name is Ivan Gonzalez and I'm from Mexico. This year I'll be
helping you with your Spanish, so I think it would be a good
idea that you get to know me a little bit more.
Birthday: June 04
Hobbies: I like to travel, listen to music, go to the movies,
party, play the guitar, dance, do sports, talk and meet people.
Favorite food: Pizza, hamburgers, lasagna, Chinese food and, of
course, Mexican food!
Well, I don't know what to write. I'm really bad at writing
descriptions. So why don't you visit me and let me get to know

Que tal!
Mi nombre es Ivan Gonzalez y soy de Mexico. Este año estaré
ayudandolos un poco con su español, asi que creo que seria buena
idea que me conocieran un poco.
Cumpleaños: 04 de Junio
Pasatiempos: Me gusta viajar, escuchar música, ir al cine, ir a
fiestas, tocar la guitarra, bailar, hacer ejercicio, platicar y
conocer gente.
Comida favorita: Pizza, hamburguesas, lasagna, comida china y
por supuesto... comida mexicana!
Bueno, no sé que más escribir. Soy malo para las descripciones,
asi que mejor por que no me visitas y me dejas conocerte, esta
bien? Bueno, nos vemos pronto!
Verònica: Hi! everybody!! My name is
Veronica Badariotti, I'm from Rosario, Argentina and I'll be the
Spanish TA this year. Just for you to know a little bit about
me, I got my degree two years ago in Rosario State University as
an English Teacher and this year I hope to improve my English as
much as I can and be able to get to know all of you (or as many
as I can!). So If you feel the same, please don't hesitate to
contact me! I 'll be more than happy to meet you! Well, here are
some of the things I like the most: Music: I'd say a bit of
everything though I'm a huge U2 fan. Food: mmm so dfficult to decide. I guess Argentine barbecue!
Drink: I need to be honest here: I love red wine.
Animal: horses are on top of the list, that's for sure. I love
dogs and birds too.
Places visited: I know almost all of the most beautiful places
in Argentina, I've also been in Brazil (awesome beaches by the
way) and this year I'm planning to travel to Canada, Chicago and
New York. WANNA COME?! EVERYONE'S INVITED!

Hola a todos!! Mi nombre es Verònica Badariotti, soy de Rosario,
Argentina.
Solo para que sepan un poco acerca de mi, obtuve mi titulo de
profesora de Inglès hace dos anos en la Unviersidad National de
Rosario y este ano espero mejorar mi ingles y poder concerlos a
todos (o a todos los que pueda!). Asique si sienten lo mismo no
duden en contactarme, estarè màs que feliz de conocerlos!
Bueno aquì hay algunas de las cosas que màs me gustan:
Mùsica: Dirìa que un poco de todo aunque soy una gran fan de U2
Comida: es dificil decidir... creo que el asado argentino! Bebida: Debo ser honesta aquì, me encanta el vino tinto.
Animal: los caballos estan primeros en la lista, sin ninguna
duda. Tambièn me gustan los perros y las aves.
Lugares visitados: Conozco casi todos los lugares màs hermosos
en Argentina, tambièn estuve en Brasil (playas increìbles por
cierto) y este ano planeo viajar a Canadà, Chicago y Nueva York.
QUIEREN VENIR?! ESTAN TODOS INVTADOS!

French: Thomas
Trout and Valerie Halo
Valerie: I'm Valerie Halo, from Reims, FRANCE (north
east). In France I study English, Irish and American literature
and civilization. Last year I made a "memoire" on Toni Morrison
(my favorite writer). I hope that this year in Albion will give
me a chance to discover a lot of things on American culture
because studying about a foreign country is always different
that living in this country!! I am also fond of dance (modern
and ballet) and this is the second part of my life in France.
Je m'appelle Valérie Halo, je viens de Reims, au Nord-est de la
France. En France, j'étudie la litterature et la civilisation
anglaise, irlandaise et américaine. L'année dernière j'ai fait
mon mémoire sur Toni Morrison (mon écrivain "préférée").
J'espère que cette année à Albion va me permettre de découvrir
plein de choses sur la civilisation américaine parce qu'étudier
un pays étranger est toujours différent que de vivre dans ce
pays!! Je suis aussi passionnée par la danse (moderne et
classique) et cela constitue la seconde partie de ma vie en
France.
Thomas: Hello my name is Thomas TROUT, I come from France
and more precisely from Paris. I’m 21 years old and I already
have a bachelor’s degree in Management and New Technology.
Coming from a Franco-American family, I’m very happy to be
present in Albion and it’s for me the best way to discover my
second culture in this college and improve my English knowledge.
I have already traveled in United States (Philadelphia,
New-York, Florida, North Carolina…) when I was young. I like the
music, the sports, the women, the travels, watching movies and
do a lot of party with my friends. I’m living my childhood dream
by being here and for this year, I hope to help you to discover
the French culture as French food and all the others things
which could be really different with the USA. Otherwise, I’m
very interested and the Management because I wish to continue my
studies in a Master degree in Financial Management. I have
worked during 9 months in “BEST“company in the purchase domain
and I liked it a lot. Finally, I’m always ready to discover news
things and I’m always here for you when you need and I enjoy
meeting new people. See you soon, I hope!!!
Bonjour tout le monde, je me presente je m’appelle Thomas TROUT
et je viens de France et plus precisemment de la ville de Paris.
Issue d une famille Franco-Americaine, je suis vraiment tres
heureux d’etre ici et de pouvoir partager avec vous cette
nouvelle experience de TA et d’etudiant au sein d’un college
Americain. J ai deja voyage aus USA quand j etais pluis jeune a
Philadelphie, en Floride, a New-York et en Caroline du nord….En
France, je suis actuellement etudiant en Management et Nouvelles
Technologies puisque j ai valide ma license de management en mai
et je souhaite poursuivre mes etudes dans un Master specialise
dans ce domaine. Sinon en ce qui me concerne j aime les sports,
la musique, les filles, les films et faire la fete, bien
sur!!!.Il me semble etre assez ouvert d’esprit et j espere vous
donner l envie cette annee de decouvrir les joies de la France
alors n’ hesiter a me parler pour ceux que ca interesse!!!
