German: Matthias Völzke and Anne-Marie Böhse

Hi, we are Anne-Marie and Matthias, the two German FLTAs 2004/05. Anne-Marie is 23 years old and from Göttingen. Matthias is also 23 years old and from Berlin (West). In Germany, both of us are working on our teacher's degree; Anne-Marie's subjects are English and Ethics, Matthias' subjects are Physics and English/North American Studies. In Albion, we are living in the German House, where we are in charge of the German Cultural Activities (The picture shows us at the "Oktoberfest", which took place in the fall semester 2004.). Furthermore, we are teaching the tutorials for the German classes at the Department of Foreign Languages. Are you interested? We are looking forward to having you with us!

Hallo, wir sind Anne-Marie und Matthias, die beiden deutschen FLTAs 2004/05. Anne-Marie ist 23 Jahre alt und kommt aus Göttingen. Matthias, ebenfalls 23, kommt aus Berlin (West). In Deutschland studieren wir beide auf Lehramt; Anne-Maries Fächer sind Deutsch und Ethik, Matthias studiert Physik und Englisch/North American Studies. Hier in Albion wohnen wir im Deutschen Haus und organisieren die German Cultural Activities (Auf dem Bild seht ihr uns beim "Oktoberfest", was im Herbstsemester 2004 stattfand.). Spanish: Gibran Garcia Mendoza and Esna Guzman Pelayo

Hello, we are Esna and Gibran from Mexico. We are the Spanish native speakers for the fall semester 2004 and spring semester 2005. We are both living in the International House (I-House) in which we are in charge of organizing different cultural activities for the students who are studying Spanish. We also have some other duties, such as teaching tutorials, leading Spanish tables at upper Baldwin, and taking classes like all Albion students do. In this semester Esna is taking French, English and sports classes. Gibran is taking Japan’s Intl. Relations, Chinese, English, and sport classes, too. We have graduated from our own universities in Mexico. We both majored in foreign language teaching. Esna comes from Colima, a little state in central Mexico by the Pacific coast. She enjoys tropical weather as well as listening to music, dancing and exercising. Gibran comes from Oaxaca, a state which is located in the south of Mexico. He likes listening and playing punk music, Japanese anime, and soccer. If you have any question or just want to practice your Spanish, you will be more than welcome to visit us.

Hola, somos Esna y Gibran de México. Somos los hablantes nativos de Español durante el semestre de otoño 2004, y primavera 2005. Los dos vivimos en la casa internacional (I-House) en la cual estamos a cargo de organizar diferentes actividades culturales para los estudiantes que están aprendiendo español. También tenemos otras obligaciones como enseñar español en las tutorías, dirigir mesas españolas en el segundo piso de Baldwin, y tomar clases como todos los estudiantes en Albion. En este semestre, Esna esta tomando clases de francés, Ingles y deportes. Gibran esta tomando clases de Relaciones Int. De Japón, Chino, Ingles y también deportes. Los dos ya nos hemos graduado de nuestras universidades en México. Estudiamos la carrera en Enseñaza de lenguas extranjeras. Esna es de colima, un pequeño estado en México central, cerca del océano pacifico. A ella le gusta el clima tropical, así como escuchar música, bailar y hacer ejercicio. Gibran viene de Oaxaca, un estado que esta localizado al sur de México. A el le gusta escuchar y tocar música punk, el anime japonés, y el fútbol.

French: Florent Vignes and Valentine Gaudin

Bonjour! We are Valentine and Florent the two native speakers at Albion for 2004/5! Valentine is 22 years old and comes from “La Mothe-Achard” which is on the West Coast of France, 15mns away from the sea! Florent is 25 years old and is from the southern suburbs of Paris. Valentine enjoys traveling, photography, fashion (especially earrings!), listening to music, basketball…well sport in general! Florent likes tennis, squash, table tennis; he plays the guitar especially blues and jazz, and loves cinema! Back in France, Valentine already graduated in foreign languages and civilizations (English, Spanish and German). Florent is studying English culture and literature in the Charles V Institute of Paris. Here in Albion, we have the same duties as the other TA’s (tutorials, French table, cultural activities, follow classes…). Valentine is studying photography, introduction to ethnic studies and tennis/badminton. Florent is taking evolution of jazz, Spanish 102, racketball, guitar and voice lessons. If u ever need help for your French, or if u just feel like talking French, don’t hesitate to come and visit us. We live in the I-House!


Bonjour! Nous sommes Valentine et Florent les assistants de français a Albion pour l’année 2004/5. Valentine a 22 ans et vient de « La Mothe-Achard » qui se trouve sur la cote ouest de la France, elle habite a 15mns de la plage ! Florent a 25 ans et il vient de la région parisienne (sud). Valentine adore voyager, la photographie, la mode (en particulier les boucles d’oreilles), écouter de la musique, le basket-ball…enfin, le sport en général ! Florent aime le tennis, le squash, le ping pong ; il joue de la guitare (du blues et jazz), et il adore le cinéma ! En France, Valentine a déjà obtenu son diplôme en langues et civilisations étrangères (anglais, espagnol et allemand). Florent étudie la culture et la civilisation anglaise a l’Institut Charles V de Paris. Ici a Albion, nous avons les mêmes devoirs que les autres assistants (tutorats, tables françaises, activités culturelles, suivre des classes…). A Albion, Valentine étudie la photographie, introduction aux études ethniques et tennis/badminton. Florent suit des cours d’évolution du jazz, espagnol 102, racketball, guitare et des cours de chants. Si jamais vous avez besoin d’aide en français ou si vous mourrez d’envie de parler français, n’hésitez pas a venir nous rendre visite a la maison internationale ! A bientot!!
