Master Promissory Note

The Master Promissory Note (MPN) is a contract with your lender and is the most important document you need to complete when you borrow a Federal loan.  The MPN is a form for obtaining Federal loans and will accommodate both single and multi-year (serial) borrowing.  By signing the MPN, you are agreeing to repay the money you borrow, as well as abide by all the terms associated with it.  Furthermore, the MPN package gives you specific information regarding your rights as a borrower.  These terms are outlined in the MPN and should be kept with your personal records.

The electronic MPN allows you to complete and sign an MPN over the web as an alternative to using a paper MPN.
