Institute for the Study of the Environment

Laboratories & Equipment

At Albion our practice is to put state-of-the-art scientific equipment into the hands of all students. For students in the Environmental Institute, this means that equipment comparable to that found in the best research institutions is available in classes and for independent research projects. Our facilities allow precise mapping and sampling, chemical analysis for most environmentally important elements and compounds, and sophisticated data analysis in our GIS laboratory. Another asset is our natural laboratory, the Whitehouse Nature Center, which has over 147 acres of hardwood forest, prairie and wetland bordering the Kalamazoo River.  Please explore individual laboratories and equipment using the menu to the left.
