The Education Department Technology Resource Center

The Technology Resource Center is a part of the Ferguson Center for Technology-Aided Teaching.  The resource includes a variety of hardware, software, and equipment intended to help preservice teachers learn more about how technology can improve their instruction, learning, lesson planning.  When other computer labs are busy or when equipment available for check-out for any Albion College student is unavailable (especially during finals week!), you can be sure there is a place where you can work and learn.

The following are included in the Education Department Resource Center, and more are added each semester.  If you know of hardware, software, or other equipment you believe would be of value to students in the education department, please let contact us.  Most are available for check-out.  See Mary Weicht, education department secretary for the check-out necessary forms.

• Five late model PCs with Office 2000, Adobe PhotoShop and Acrobat.
• Two PC's designed especially for digital video moviemaking, complete with Adobe Premiere and  CD/DVD burning capabilities
• One DV & VHS dubbing deck to convert tapes to DV movies
• One photo-quality scanner
• One color printer with back-to-back printing capabilities
• Three digital video cameras
• Two cordless "clip-on" microphones for the video cameras (just like the ones used by guests on Ricki Lake!)
• Two digital still cameras
• Two web cams
• A wide variety of K-12 educational software
