After
completing a brain drain, students begin their sloppy copy. A sloppy
copy is like rough draft in that students are encouraged to focus
less on spelling and more on simply getting their ideas on paper.
Students concentrate on developing main events and constructing an
exciting storyline with a clear beginning and end. Students make
changes to their sloppy copies during "revise spies," the next stage
of the writing process.
