Revise Spies
After
completing their sloppy copy, students sign up for a revising
conference with myself. Together, we find misspelled words and
incorrect grammar. We determine parts of the story that may be
confusing to the reader or ideas that may need to be put in a
different order. We also make sure that the writing includes a topic
sentence and a concluding sentence. After discussing the revisions
that need to be made, students make the changes on their own and sign
up for a final conference. This process goes on until the student's
story is in its final form. The student can now begin a neat
sheet.
