Course Description
Course Requirements
You are required to come to class every day unless you have: *** official school business which you have cleared with me ahead of time; *** a documented family emergency; *** a serious unexpected illness (please send me an e-mail or call the economics secretary at 629-0419 BEFORE class to indicate this).
You are expected to read the material BEFORE each class, and be prepared to discuss it. If I sense this is not happening, I will give unannounced quizzes, and factor these into your grade.
Grades will be based on two 100 point midterms and a 200 point final exam (all noncumulative).
In addition, you will be required to complete a position paper analyzing a contemporary public finance issue. This will be worth 50 points.
Final grades will be based these 450 possible points. I will discuss the grading scale further during class. I reserve the right to change these requirements with reasonable notice.
