Other Reading
You will be required to read the Wall Street Journal on a regular basis. You can either subscribe to the paper for the semester, or read it in the library.
There may be assigned readings in the library (these will be announced in class). These readings are your responsibility, and will be represented on the exams.

 

Course Description

 

Course Requirements

You are required to come to class every day unless you have: *** official school business which you have cleared with me ahead of time; *** a documented family emergency; *** a serious unexpected illness (please email me or call the economics secretary at 629-0419 BEFORE class to indicate this).

You are expected to read the material BEFORE each class, and be prepared to discuss it. If I sense that this is not happening then I will give unannounced quizzes that  will figure into your grade.

 

Exams and Grades


Grades will be based on up to four quizzes (25 pts each), five noncumulative midterms (100 points each). Homework may also be assigned and could count for up to 100 points total (this will be discussed in class). I reserve the right to change this with adequate notice in class.  Grades are based on the following scale:

93-100%..... 4.0
89-92....... 3.7
85-88....... 3.3
80-84....... 3.0
75-79....... 2.7
70-74....... 2.3
65-69....... 2.0
60-64....... 1.7
55-59....... 1.3
50-54....... 1.0
< 50......... 0.0
