The Course

The purpose of the course is to introduce the basic principles of environmental and natural resource economics and to discuss the application of these principles to issues of current interest. Topics include externalities, pollution control, common property problems, renewable and nonrenewable resources, benefit-cost analysis, and global issues. The prerequisite for the course is Economics 101, Introduction to Economics. The course is currently offered during Spring 2005.  The reading list is available below. The file is in PDF format.
