Analyze … Decide … Lead
The Albion College Economics and Management (E&M) Department provides students with an understanding of economic and management principles that will be useful throughout their careers. The most popular major on campus addresses both the immediate application of problem-solving techniques and the conceptual basis for those techniques. Our curriculum includes more economic theory than is typical in undergraduate business programs, providing solid preparation for those who aspire to attend a selective M.B.A. program or to advance into jobs requiring strong analytical skills. We also offer more courses related to business than is typical in undergraduate economics programs, making Albion College a top choice for
students who want to experience a small liberal arts college environment while also improving their prospects for a good job in business immediately after graduation.
Albion E&M graduates generally go on to careers in business, law, or government. Many eventually attend M.B.A. programs (often after some post-B.A. work experience), law schools, other professional schools, or graduate schools.
We offer both an 8-course E&M major and several variants of a more intensive 10-course E&M major with emphasis (areas of emphasis include accounting, economics, finance, general business, human resources, international business and international economics).

Seniors Rewarded for Mentoring Local Youth
The highlight of the week for many children at Albion's Harrington Elementary School is the one-hour visit by their mentor, who happens to be a student from Albion College. Three senior E&M students who are also members of the men's basketball program – Bob Wernet, Luke Walker, and Sean Hendon – were among 25 Albion students who recently received Michigan Campus Compact Heart and Soul awards for their dedication to community service. They were also among the recipients of the Jessie Longhurst Rotary Service Award.
The mentorship program, now known as Jessie's Gift in memory of the 2002 Albion High School graduate and former Albion College student-athlete, was developed and is currently run by Peg Turner, the wife of former Albion men's basketball coach Mike Turner.
