Albion is located in Albion, Michigan at the crossroads of Interstate 94 and Michigan highway 99, Going east, it is about 20 minutes to Jackson, about 45-60 minutes to Ann Arbor, and about 2 hours to Detroit. Going west, it is about 15 minutes to Marshall, about 30 minutes to Battle Creek, about 45 minutes to Kalamazoo, and about 3 hours to Chicago. Going north, it is about 45 minutes to Lansing. We are located about 2 hours from Grand Rapids and 2 hours from Toledo, Ohio.

Transportation and Accommodations

Albion is approximately 80 miles from Detroit Metropolitan International Airport (DTW), 60 miles from Lansing Capital City Airport (LAN), and 45 miles from Kalamazoo-Battle Creek International Airport (AZO). A motorcoach shuttle service, Michigan Flyer, offers round-trip transportation between Jackson, Mich. and Detroit Metropolitan Airport. With advance notice, Albion College staff can meet visitors who are using the Michigan Flyer service and transport them to campus.

Amtrak provides national rail passenger service with daily stops in Albion, as well as Jackson and Battle Creek. Greyhound provides intercity bus transportation.

Albion has four distinct seasons due to our latitude of 42 degrees. However, our temperatures are moderated by our proximity to the Great Lakes. The average high temperature ranges from 29.1 in January to 81.7 in July. The average low temperature ranges from 14.2 in January to 59.5 in July. Our monthly precipitation is typically between 2 and 4 inches.
