Student Recruitment Publications

Albion’s student recruitment publications are characterized by several interrelating elements as described below. This graphic look should be used on all communications aimed primarily at prospective students and their families. Albion College Identity Guide - Student Recruitment Publications

  • Prominent use of the official logo.
  • A field of solid color PMS 269 that touches three sides of the piece, with an arc along the fourth edge of the shape. The official logo will usually be placed within this field.
  • The remainder of the space on the cover will usually be filled with a full-bleed photo.
  • The LAAW logo may be used as a “signature” near or on the back cover or inside where it might serve as a visual element.
  • When smaller photos are included, they will sometimes—but not always— have one or two radius corners. Albion College Identity Guide - Student Recruitment PublicationsAlbion College Identity Guide - Student Recruitment Publications
  • The swirl—a PhotoShop element—will often be used for a prominent statement or headline.
  • A “rambling rule,” which includes both radius and 90 degree turns, is used to “tie” the elements together.
  • In the interior, blocks of color will be used to organize and highlight typographic elements such as lists.
  • Abundant use of full-bleed photography, often framed by curving color fields, will be used throughout.

Publications for Other Constituents

Albion’s publications aimed primarily at audiences other than prospective students and their families are characterized by several interrelating elements as described below. Albion College Identity Guide - Publications for Other Constituents

  • Use of the official logo. The official logo should appear on the cover, but it does not need to be the most dominant element. The LAAW logo may be used as a “signature” near or on the back cover or inside where it might serve as a visual element.
  • Use of color-filled bars, blocks, and stripes of varying width used to define and invigorate the space.
  • The interior will include the use of color blocks to organize and highlight typographic elements such as lists.
  • Use of some full-bleed photography when possible.

Templates

The Communications Office is devising templates that incorporate the graphic identity elements and can be used for various purposes. The templates are organized according to the categories listed below. The Communications staff can assist you in customizing these templates for your needs. In addition, the staff can work with you in designing additional templates for purposes beyond those listed below.

Once the design is set for your project, the Communications Office will provide you with a Microsoft Publisher file containing the template for your use. These files can be printed using either a commercial printing vendor, or Albion College's own Information Technology Printing Services. Please see the Communications Project Planning Form for further guidance in developing your publication.
