Albion College welcomes its new cheerleading coach, Syndi Shiller. Albion College's cheer coach, Syndi Shiller, attended Highland Park Community College in hopes of receiving a nursing degree. Unfortunately, Highland Park closed their doors before her completion. After searching for a college that did not have a waiting list, Syndi decided to complete her degree in Criminal Justice. She attended several colleges to mix and match her credits. During this time she was able to cheer for Wayne State University, Tri-State University and Highland Park Community College. After receiving her degree, she realized a full time job would take her away from her daughter. So, she developed American Spirit Cheerleaders, a youth cheer team. This allowed her to bring her daughter with her, pay the bills, and still have time to practice her love of cheerleading. The fit was perfect. Her current aspirations are to continue to develop her webshop www.usacheerleader.com, bringing discounts cheer wear, gear, information, employment opportunities and clinic information to current and aspiring cheerleaders. Syndi is also in the process of helping Albion develop a larger, more talented team than we've had in the past. As the team grows, she is hoping to bring Albion College Cheerleaders to competition level.
