Interfaith Initiatives
The College Chaplain coordinates interfaith life on Albion College's campus, by training, supervising, and supporting student leaders.
The Bridge
The Bridge is an interfaith advisory team of the Office of the Chaplain. The Bridge advises the College Chaplain, actively supports members (and their student organizations) in individual religious, spiritual, and philosophical traditions, and creates and leads interfaith opportunities for campus. The group takes a leadership role in addressing discrimination.
The Bridge seeks to be a representative body, and will include as much diversity of religious, spiritual, and philosophical traditions as possible. Due to schedule conflicts (see attendance policy) or lack of sufficient numbers available from certain traditions, full representation is not always possible. In these cases, members of The Bridge will create liaisons with traditions not at the table.
Bridge members are involved at a regional, national, and international level in interfaith leadership.
Heritage Weeks & Months
Intercultural Affairs coordinates Albion College's celebration of Latino/Latina Heritage Month, Coming Out Week, Black History Month, and Asian Pacific Heritage Month, and other awareness celebrations. The Office of the Chaplain and student organizations often sponsor programs during these heritage weeks and months that have a central religious, spiritual, or philosophical theme.
Interfaith Suppers
Now in its ninth year, the Interfaith Supper program consists of the College Chaplain serving home-made vegetarian dinners at his home, giving a relaxed opportunity for students to dialogue with unique guests from various traditions. Come join! Come cook!
Umbrella Groups
Umbrella groups, supported by the Office of Intercultural Affairs and the Office of the Chaplain, regularly sponsor programs with significant religious and/or philosophical themes.
