("anime") to club members and interested visitors in a semi-public venue. The

group will teach others the art of knitting while also allowing experienced
members to continue developing their skills.
College Democrats
The purpose of the College Democrats is to
represent and foster the views of the Democratic Party at Albion College. As a
political organization we help college students become involved in political
issues and elections through campaigning, sponsoring speakers, and attending
regional, state, and national political functions. The Democrats provide
information to the campus regarding the Democratic platform and its candidates
for office. The group also works on voter registration drives, increasing
voter turnout, and other citizenship activities regardless of political
affiliation.
Ecological Awareness Club
Ecological Awareness Club (Eco Club) is dedicated to
promoting education and awareness of environmental concerns within the Albion community. Activities include
expanding campus-wide
recycling, sponsoring environmental programs and speakers and
promoting changes to campus policy. The main goal is to disseminate
information and encourage activism.
Albyonne Medievalist Society
Albyonne Medievalist Society encourages and promotes the
research and recreation of all cultures between the period of
600 and 1600 A.D. This includes all aspects of medieval life
such as: armored combat techniques, costuming, music,
dance, culinary arts (a period feast is held each semester),
calligraphy and illumination, armoring, leather working,
literature, and languages.
Peace Action
Albion College Peace Action is an affiliate of the Student Peace Action Network
(SPAN), the student chapter of the national grassroots organization Peace
Action. Peace Action shall seek to promote peace, justice, and social
responsibility in the community, nationally, and globally, through the exercise
of the freedoms of assembly, conscience, and speech. We shall seek to
generate positive change through education (including but not limited to
sponsoring speakers, film series, forums, peace-related conferences/trips, and
so forth) and direct action (including but not limited to demonstrations,
teach-ins, letter-writing campaigns, petitions, and so forth).
Peer Educators
The Albion College Peer
Educators is a group of students interested in issues of health and wellness in
college life. We focus on issues that have particular relevance in the lives of
college students. We learn about the components of a healthy lifestyle, and then pass on what we have learned to our peers, in entertaining and educational
programs. Additionally, we choose to make healthy choices in our own lives,
physically, mentally, emotionally, socially and spiritually. Applications to
join Peer Education can be found on our website.
Photography Club
The purpose of the Photography Club is to study the art of photography and
journalism photography through peer advising and darkroom utilization.
Possible programs provided by the club include an exhibit of members' work at
the end of each semester. In cooperation with other organizations on
campus, the club will also offer group portraits and event documentation.
College Republicans
College Republicans promote an awareness of political
issues from a conservative point of view. This is accomplished
through campaign work for Republican candidates, guest
speakers, and group discussions. The organization offers
interested students opportunities for leadership and connections with state and local GOP officials.
Student Alumni Association
The Student
Alumni Association (SAA) works closely with the Office of Alumni and Parent
Relations. We are an important part of the College effort to enhance and
preserve feelings of loyalty and fellowship between the students, faculty, alumni,
friends, parents, and Albion community. We accomplish this by involvement
with Freshmen Move-in Day, Homecoming Weekend, Family Day, Little Siblings
Weekend, and Graduation Festivities, among other things. The group is made
up of fun, dynamic, and hard working individuals hoping to make a difference on
the campus.
Students for Entertainment Employment
Students for Entertainment Employment will provide a means for
individuals to participate in activities consistent with their interest
in pursuing careers in entertainment related fields. |
