Entertainment & Recreation Groups
Albion College Dance Team
The Albion College Dance Team is a group of energetic dancers who
perform during half-time of the men's and women's basketball
games. Started in 1995, the group is completely student run
in which they emphasize their dancing skills with new hip-hop and jazz styled
routines. The 10-15 members of the squad choreograph and teach their own dances
and create their own music mixes.
Albion College Dancers
ACD
members participate in dance events and promote dance activities on campus,
including a spring performance which features both student and professional

sponsors guest choreographers, speakers and performers. Finally, ACD provides
its members with opportunities to attend performances at other campuses and
venues.
Anyone with or without dance experience is welcome to join.
Albion College Players

Theatre Department. The organization exists to stimulate creativity and
foster artistic achievement in all the allied arts and crafts of theatre.
All are welcome to join.
Euphonics
Euphonics is a student-led musical organization
based upon three main objectives: allow
members an outlet for singing pop and jazz a cappella music; give students the
opportunity to compose and arrange a cappella music and to provide a group that
is available and willing to perform that music; and provide the campus with
concerts consisting of popular and jazz based a cappella music. Euphonics have proved to be an extremely popular group on Albion's campus
by winning the Albion Battle of the Bands as well as performing multiple solo
concerts since the organization was formed in 2002. Membership is based on an audition process open to the entire student
body.
The Coffee House
The Coffee House is a nonprofit student organization which
provides Albion College and the Albion community with social
space in the hopes of fostering greater social and intellectual
exchange. The Coffee House serves the entire gamut of
Coffee House fare--espresso, cappuccino, hot chocolate,
mochas, soda, etc.--and provides frequent entertainment and
lively discussion. Furthermore, the Coffee House provides
student volunteers with the opportunity to manage a small
business first hand.
Union Board
Union Board, more
often referred to as UB, is a student volunteer programming council that works
to provide entertainment programs for the student body. Working within a
committee structure, UB selects a variety of entertainment shows, then
publicizes, produces and evaluates these programs in the genres of music,
comedy, novelty, special events, off-campus excursions and recreation. Union
Board also administers the Bohm Movie Program that allows students to see movies
by showing their student ID's. This organization allows students to make a
direct impact on their campus environment outside the classroom and offers many
possibilities for students to become involved in extra-curricular programming.
To become involved, they have open meetings on Tuesday nights at 9:30pm in the
Alumni Conference Room. |
